In Te Ngahere, some of the year 7’s and 8’s went to Kaikohe to do the Ki O Rahi tournament. For those of you who don’t know what Ki O Rahi is, Ki O Rahi is sport that is well known in New Zealand. In Ki O Rahi there are two teams, Taniwha and Kioma, Taniwha is the attack the Tupu while Kioma is scoring and defending the Tupu. Every 10 minutes the teams would swap over for example, if Paihia was Kioma, they would have to be Taniwha and Keriri would be Kioma. We lost most of the games but we did try our best and being proud that we did the Ki O Rahi Tournament. What I enjoyed was having fun because how can you play Ki O Rahi when there is no fun.
