Author Visit

In Te Ngahere, an author came in and talked to us about her life and what she was interested about. Her name was Adele Broadbent, and one of her books was nominated in the 2011 New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards. She was fascinated in the paranormal, such as Aliens, BigFoot, Loch Ness Monster, Atlantis, Slender Man and other classified things in the world. She also wrote a book about the paranormal and soccer mixed together called Between. In part of the book, there was a woman named Mad Martha, she had a house that no one came into. People thought it was the witch's house, this is based in Adele Memories of her childhood because her friends would dare each other to touch the tin shed and back. What I enjoyed was her talking about the paranormal things that happen in the universe because lots of people don’t believe in extraterrestrial stuff in space or on the Earth.
