Ki O Rahi Term 4

In Te Ngahere, some of use went Morewa Simpson Park to play Ki o rahi. There were about 16 teams at Simpson Park, some of them were year five and sixes team and some were the year seven and eights team. I was focusing on communicating with my team when playing. We all learnt all the things we had to do when playing, then we got started with the game. We lost the first game but we did improve. On the second game we won by eight zero and the third game was ten three. After the three game's were done we would see who were in the semi finals. We got in the semi finals, along we Tamahere which they are really good. We lost but at least we had fun. What I enjoyed was playing the game and having fun with others.

Swim Safe Learning 2019

In Te Ngahere, we were learning about how to keep safe on a boat and in the water. We learned the five ways to keep safe on a boat, on the beach or in the water. I wrote all of them in one slide show. The five ways that I did were; have a life jacket if you are on a boat, tell an adult where you are going, have an adult if you are on the beach, have a waterproof phone or a flare and check the weather. We were learning to keep ourselves safe this summer when on a boat or in the water. What I enjoyed was learning about the dangers that could happen when we are swimming.
Here is my DLO.

STEAM Challenge

In Te Ngahere, we did a STEAM challenge. We were learning to create a freestanding object with limited materials. The challenge was to build the highest free standing tower with two sheets of newspaper and 30 cm of tape. My group was myself, Mikaire and Shay. We were a great team. We had 20 minutes to plan and construct the tower, which was hard for me. Some towers were tall, some were short and some fell. After all the towers were tested, my group figured out that we needed the base of the tower to be more balanced. What I enjoyed was building the tower because we all had lots of fun constructing it. What I could do next time is communicate with my group more, rather than building the tower quickly.
Here are some photos and my reflection.
