Pepeha

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about our pepeha. For some people who don’t know what a pepeha is, a pepeha is the story of your life and going back to your ancestors and how they got here. Other people don’t have the same pepeha, (unless they are in the same family) because it doesn't relate to who you are and how your family got to New Zealand. What I did well with my pepeha is that I got to know where my family came from because my Mum’s side came from Britain.
Here is my Pepeha
Ko Hikurangi te maunga.
Ko Taumarere te awa.
Ko Ngatokimatawhaorua te waka.
Ko Ngapuhi te iwi.
Ko Ngati Hene te hapu.
Ko Ngati Manu te marae.
Ko Paihia te kura
Ko Derek Bell toku Koro
Ko Trish Bell toku Kuia
Ko Paul Bell toku Papa
Ko Debbie Milner toku kuia
Ko Richard Milner toku koro
Ko Fran Milner toku mama
Ko Zayed toku potiki o te whanau.

Ko Dayton toku ingoa.
