The Post War(S)

I have put a pohutukawa tree and a kiwi for represent New Zealand. I put a background of he ocean because we love swiming.

To Mrs.Lindsay
I would like to change the school about the rubbish I am seeing rubbish everyday at the school and it is bad for the animals because animals are being extinct.

From Dayton.

If I was Scotty Morrison I would interview would with the Prime Minster Jacinda Ardern because I want to tell her about the rubbish of New Zealand. I would like to find out if she will have a talk with the council and talk about the rubbish and let the people know about the rubbish in New Zealand.

I think students should pay to go to university so we can have some clothing and food for other people.

  1. Ata Marie Dayton,
It’s great to see that you have continued blogging over the summer holidays. I love your postcard! It’s great to see that you have combined three well known symbols of New Zealand! You’re poster on Peter Snell, it really good too! It’s great that you have included a photo and some information about his races. Did you see in the documentary that Peter Snell loved playing lots of different sports as a teenageer? What sports to you enjoy playing in?
Ka pai for being a eco warrior! I don’t think many people think twice about where their rubbish goes when they toss it in the bin! To strengthen your letter to Mrs Lindsay you could mention some ways to help decrease your schools rubbish. The Nelson Environment Centre has some great information for schools to become waste wise! Here is the link to their website if you wanted to learn more : http://www.nec.org.nz/reducing-waste-school/
    Keep up the great work!

  2. Hey Dani,

This is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey team. I will be reading and commenting on your blog this summer. I hope you are enjoying this programme and having a fun time blogging!

That's a cool post card! I like how you included a photo of a puhutukawa tree and a kiwi in front of the beautiful painting of New Zealand. The combination of different colours make the postcard beautiful and eye-catching.

That is an awesome presentation of Peter Snell, did you use google drawing to make that? Peter Snell was one of the best New Zealand athletes and he is still considered as a legendary middle-distance runner. I went to Macleans college in Auckland and there is a 'Snell house' which is named after Peter Snell.

I think it's awesome that you are thinking about our environment and nature and how it can affect many animals and humans living on this planet. Talking to the Prime Minister about all the environmental problems we have in New Zealand. You could talk about the ways to improve our environment with her and come back to school to share the ideas with the whole school.

Yes, I also think that students need to pay for their further education as they are adults and they are not receiving compulsory education. It's their choice to go to university to get a degree. Students will become less motivated to learn and do their best if all the courses are free.

I really enjoyed reading your blog and I look forward to reading other awesome activity posts :)

    Jade C.
