In Te Ngahere we have been doing a Panui activity about 4 explorers called Kupe, Nukutawhiti, James Cook and Abel Tasman. They are the most well known people to come to New Zealand. My group did Kupe because he was the first Polynesian to come to New Zealand. Kupe came across New Zealand after attacking Te Wheke-A-Muturangi that lead him to New Zealand. He was also a great navigator to the Polynesians because he knows where he's going when he is hunting and fishing, and also he got his own statue. What I enjoyed was researching the information of Kupe getting to New Zealand and why, because finding an island in the middle of the ocean is tough. What I need to work on is to not get distracted by other people because it can get me nowhere when my learning.

I enjoyed learning a bit more about Kupe and how he had came to New Zealand,and I wasn't aware of the name change of the waka of Kupe. Overall,I enjoyed this because It’s got some very good information and It’s very interesting. Anyway, Thanks for this slide, I will see ya later!
